You know that spring is around the corner when The New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx unveils its annual Orchid Show, a perennial favorite with enthusiasts of this extravagant, many-colored bloom.

This year’s show features the towering “vertical gardens” created by French botanist and artist Patrick Blanc, known for his “green walls utilizing hydroponic technology.

A special audio tour will guide visitors through the conservatory, with special educational presentations at 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

And Saturday nights from 6 to 8:30 throughout the run of the exhibition are Orchid Evenings: Enjoy a complimentary cocktail and live music amid the flowers, plus special dinner offers at restaurants on Arthur Ave. (Orchid Evening tickets are $30, for ages 21 and up).
