Burger & Lobster, a restaurant and bar in London's Mayfair, is among 81 new entries in Michelin's new guide to more than 550 top British and Irish pubs.
Other new entries in London include Lady Ottoline, Bloomsbury; Jugged Hare, City of London; Empress, Hackney; Hampshire Hog, Hammersmith; Albion, Islington; Crooked Well, Camberwell; Angel & Crown, Strand. The pub of the year award went to the Gunton Arms, in Thorpe Market.
"Chefs are becoming more adept at using lesser-known cuts as a means of creating cost-conscious set menus, particularly at lunch," says Rebecca Burr, editor of "The Michelin Eating Out in Pubs Guide 2013" ($22.95).
While pubs are chosen mainly for their food, some are recognized for their setting, character and service.
