If you venture into the city this weekend, you won't come back hungry. Whether you're pigging out in Brooklyn Bridge Park, shopping for Chinese broccoli in Flushing or noshing on bialys on the Lower East Side, there's something for every appetite.
1. Sky Foods
WHAT Flushing gets a new Asian supermarket tomorrow, with the arrival of this 36,000-square-foot megastore in the Sky View Center. The inventory includes organic produce, a butcher, a fishmonger and an array of prepared foods, including sushi -- imagine Whole Foods with a Chinese twist. If you bring the car, there's a six-level garage with free parking. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on opening day there will be games and activities, food samples, cooking demos and special promotions.

WHAT Calling all carnivores: There will be no shortage of meat at this supersized, star-powered cookout in Brooklyn Bridge Park, with 45 leading American chefs serving every conceivable kind of edible animal, from spit-roasted whole sheep and goat tacos to hog barbecue and smoked elk sausage. Sponsor Amstel Light will keep the beer flowing; the Manhattan skyline and the Hudson River provide the backdrop. There are three levels of tickets, with the least expensive offering unlimited tastings and beer for purchase.

Taste of the Lower East Side
WHAT This new walking and tasting tour, led by two educators from the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, explores the immigrant foods of this still-vital neighborhood, home to a diverse range of cultures. You'll stop at 12 different purveyors and sample 11 different foods along the way, including Chinese dumplings, Dominican fried plantains, Asian-fusion cream puffs and more.
