Cranmore ski report and snow conditions

In 1937, North Conway native Harvey Dow Gibson decided to make his hometown the undisputed center of downhill skiing in the Mount Washington Valley. And he succeeded. Seventy years later, Cranmore has plenty of competition, but the location Gibson staked out -- on a south-facing slope on the eastern edge of this bustling resort town -- makes it a perennial favorite with budget-minded families with novice or lower intermediate skiers and snowboarders.

To further appeal to its base clientele, Cranmore recently added Cranapalooza, a Saturday night skiing (11 trails, 3 lifts), tubing and off-slope entertainment session that runs until 9 p.m.
