• Gore ski report and snow conditions
With more than 80 trails, one as long as three miles, and 347 skiable acres, Gore is a huge mountain, and skiers will get plenty of exercise here. The locals have been coming here for years, and Long Island residents are now beginning to take advantage of its excellent snowmaking and affordable prices.
New this year is Northwoods Lodge, a site created from an old gondola building in cooperation with the Lincoln Logs company. The space will house the Kids Klub children's program, a day-care center and rental shop. The remodeled base lodge provides more room for seating, lockers, hooks and storage space. A new triple chairlift has been installed at the North Creek Ski Bowl area.
Visitors leave the site for accommodations, traveling just 15 minutes to the Adirondack villages of Johnsburg, North Creek or Weavertown, where cozy inns and bed and breakfasts await, or another 20 minutes to the bigger towns of Lake George or Glens Falls, where larger hotels and motels offer accommodations.
