Where is your favorite place to ski in Vermont? What's your favorite trail? Discuss with other skiers.

Yes it is true, New England is about to get dumped on. They're talking over a foot of the natural stuff.

Next weekend is the last weekend for early season rates. Luckily the conditions will not reflect the price.

If you're looking for fun mountain to check out next weekend, 12/7-9, I suggest Mount Snow. Mount Snow just spent 3.5 million on new snowmaking equipment and it shows. They were the first to open in VT and the snow has been great. Now with mother nature helping out, it's a no brainer.

That weekend is also the Walk of the Santas Weekend. We're attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the largest Santa Gathering. There'll be silly holiday activities all weekend long and if you dress up as a Santa, you'll get $25 off your lift ticket both Saturday and Sunday. Don't have a Santa Suit? Don't worry, register at www.celebratethevalley.com now and there'll be one waiting for you when you get here.

Need a place to stay? Check out www.skihomerealty.com for early season rates on trailside condos or check out the accommodations section of www.celebratethevalley.com .

Must ski trail = Nosedive?****? Are these guys really skiers? Nosedive is a bit of a pansy trail.

Starr and Goat are the true must ski trails at Stowe.

In your story you say Killington has the biggest vertical in the east. Not true.
Killington's Vertical 3050'
Whiteface's Vertical 3166'

It's April and I'm happy to report that we aren't done skiing in Vermont. I had a great spring skiing day at Bolton Valley on Sunday (their last day of operation) but there are plenty of resorts still open. I have an updated list in my Vermont ski blog at http://www.skimaven.com . While the spring flowers are coming up in the villages, there is still a lot of snow in the mountains---over 90 inches on the top of Mt. Mansfield!
