Washington Heights in Manhattan

Filled with rich history, cultural diversity and plenty of green space, Washington Heights in Manhattan is named for Fort Washington, a Revolutionary War-era defensive fortification formerly located in Bennett Park. On the north end of Manhattan, the neighborhood runs from 190th Street to 155th Street and is bounded by the Harlem River on the east, the Hudson on the west.
