Love him or hate him, you simply can't ignore America's Canadian heartthrob Justin Bieber.

Whether he's dropping a platinum album like this summer's "Believe" or headlining a worldwide tour, Bieber Fever is a trend that, for better or worse, is here to stay. (Or at least until England's One Direction supplants him in America.)

The Timberlake-in-training, 18, is in town Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden for the first of a two-night run. If you're still on the fence about whether to succumb to the Fever, here are five reasons why Biebs is the real thing:

5. He's genuinely talented
Last year's biopic "Never Say Never" - admittedly produced by Bieber's people - told the story of a prodigiously gifted pre-teen who used his astounding abilities and flair to wiggle into the music industry's upper echelons. He can drum, he can play guitar and most importantly he can actually sing - not that you'd hear him over the tens of thousands of screaming tween girls at his concerts.

4. Dance moves to make
you melt Usher wouldn't take on a protégé who couldn't bust a move, and his grooming has turned Biebs into a dancing sensation. Tightly choreographed moves are a staple of Bieber's concerts and we say forget Jagger - we want moves like Bieber.

3. That hair
Music's most famous mane launched a nationwide trend among imitating teens - the "Swoosh" - before he threw it all away for a grown-up look to go with his new grown-up sound.

2. A star of the people
Bieber isn't a Disney or Nickelodeon dime-a-dozen star, but someone who rose through the YouTube ranks to catch his own break. Everyone loves a star who made good on his own.

1. A good pop song is a good pop song
Bieber either writes or co-writes nearly all of his songs, and as far as sugary summer pop goes, they're gold. Though he's unjustly never landed a No. 1 single, "Believe" alone launched a handful tracks that topped the charts and dominate the radio.

If you go: Justin Bieber is at Madison Square Garden Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., $104.30+, 4 Penn Plaza at W. 32nd St., 212-465-6073
