The Landmarks Preservation Commission unanimously designated its 100th historic district Tuesday, creating the Perry Avenue Historic District in the Bronx. The Bedford Park district consist of nine homes built between 1910 and 1912 in the Queen Anne style.

"Would that it were larger ... it gives a special sense of place that's
unmatchable anywhere in the city," said commission Chairman Robert B. Tierney.

Plans also advanced to protect part of the Grand Concourse, and eight other buildings in the Bronx.
