MTA preps for Nemo and rolls out fleet of snow-clearing machines
As the city hunkers down in preparation for Nemo, the MTA is readying its fleet of snow-clearing machines to keep the tracks clean.
The agency Thursday was prepping a bevy of snow-blowers and de-icing cars to keep the tracks clean during the storm, and as of Thursday night there were no service changes.
Still, officials warned of the severity of the storm.
"This is a very serious storm, and we should treat it that way," said acting chief Tom Prendergast, adding that agency will store subway cars underground after the Friday rush hour to protect them.
The Metro-North will have service changes between noon and 8 p.m. Check mta.info for details, schedules and other information.
