Officer busted for falsely arresting two men on drug charges: DA
A cop was on the other side of the law after prosecutors indicted him Wednesday for allegedly arresting two men on trumped up charges.
Officer Isias Alicea, 28, a six-year veteran of the NYPD, told his superior officers that he arrested two men at the Manhattanville Houses last February because they were engaging in drug activity in the lobby of the Harlem public housing building.
Surveillance footage, however, showed the suspects never met at the lobby or break any laws that night, the Manhattan district attorney's office said.
Alicea also allegedly conducted a search of one of suspect's mailbox illegally.
