The two halfs were like two completely different basketball games for Seton Hall and Syracuse, with each team dominating opposite ends of the game.

But it was the Orange (24-8, 11-7) who closed out the second game of day two at the Big East tournament with a 75-63 win to advance to the quarterfinals Wednesday.

The Pirates (15-18, 3-15) got out to a 13-3 start at the 14:43 mark and didn't lose the lead until the last 38 seconds of the half. The second half saw the complete opposite result as Syracuse, who faces Pittsburgh today in the quarterfinals, continued their late first half resurgence to finally take a lead before blowing the game open with a 17-point margin with 4:44 remaining in the contest.

Earlier in the day, Cincinnati bolstered its NCAA Tournament case with a 61-44 victory over Providence and will face Georgetown Thursday.
