A Texas man gave cops a wild chase Monday morning after carjacking a cab in Chelsea and crashing in New Jersey, police said.

Brian Ambrose, 40, was awaiting arraignment on several charges including grand theft auto and resisting arrest, the NYPD said.

At 7:23 a.m., he assaulted a taxi driver at the corner of 23rd Street and 8th Avenue, police said. After allegedly throwing the driver out of his seat, police said Ambrose got in the vehicle and drove north, eventually taking the George Washington Bridge into New Jersey.

Ambrose, whose last known address was in Texas, crashed head on with another car in Leonia, N.J., where he was promptly arrested, the NYPD said. There were no injuries, according to authorities.
