Connecticut becomes 17th state to ban the death penalty

Yesterday, Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy signed legislation abolishing the death penalty for future crimes, making the Nutmeg State the 17th in the nation to outlaw executions and the fifth state in five years to repeal executions.
