Thefts of Apple products up 40% in New York this year: NYPD

Apple products have been a big hit with New York's thieves this year.

Police have seen a 40% increase in thefts involving the company's phones, computers, tablets and music players so far this year, the NYPD said Monday with at least 11,447 incidents as of Sunday, a jump of 3,280 over the same period last year.

Straphangers are more satisfied with the subway system, according to an MTA survey released Monday.

More than 1,800 riders polled by the transit agency gave it higher marks this year in most areas, the survey showed.

2 MTA bus drivers involved in clashes with passengers in Brooklyn

Two MTA bus drivers were involved in separate incidents with passengers Monday in Brooklyn within minutes of each other, the MTA said.

Man pleads guilty to murdering Sarah Coit

The fashion publicist who stabbed his girlfriend to death last year pleaded guilty Monday, officials said.
