NY graduation rates on the rise

The latest data shows that New York rates have improved greatly in the past decade, but the state is still slightly below the national average.

In New York state, 76 percent of high school freshmen graduated in the four years that ended in the 2009-10 school year. That's slightly behind the national average of 78 percent, but it marks a large improvement from the 2002-3 school year.
