Westchester County Airport preps for storm

The Westchester County Airport plans to be able to keep the runway clear and remain open throughout the storm predicted to arrive Friday, operations manager John Starace said. Airport employees were making final preparations Thursday to heavy equipment used to clear snow and ice from the runway, and contractors were ready to clear all other ancillary roads and sidewalks. "It's like a ballet, when we go full force out there when it's really blowing," Starace said, referring to the coordinating of heavy machinery on the runway.
