Group protests the killing of Yonkers golf course geese

NEWS12 WESTCHESTER: Animal activists say that the goose meat, made from Canada geese captured at Sprain Lake Golf Course in Yonkers, isn't safe to eat. (Sept. 10, 2012)

Animal activists are renewing their complaints about the killings of several hundred geese at a Yonkers golf course.

City officials say the Westchester County Parks Department removed 470 Canada geese from the Sprain Lake Golf Course. The geese were later killed, and their meat was sent to local food pantries.

Animal activists are firing back claiming the meat isn't safe to eat and the animals shouldn't have been killed in the first place.
