4 falcon chicks born on Verrazano-Narrows Bridge

Four Peregrine falcon chicks two males and two females have hatched in a nest 693-feet up on a Brooklyn tower of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. According to a news release from the MTA, the bridges have been part of a nesting program since 1983, and this year there are three nests for a total of 12 chicks, all of which have been banded. The other nests are on a Rockaway tower on the Marine Parkway Bridge in Queens, and on a Bronx tower of the Throgs Neck Bridge. (Credit: MTA / Patrick Cashin)
