HACKENSACK - Family members of an injured Bergen County police officer hosted a recovery service for him on Friday night.

Officer Daniel Breslin's family and friends gathered at Holy Trinity Church to show solidarity.

Breslin remains in a medically induced coma and is fighting for his life after suffering a severe head injury last Saturday.

Breslin's patrol car was rear-ended on Route 46 West in Lodi while he was assisting another officer. Michael Etz, a math and track teacher at Lodi High School, has been charged with drunken driving.

The charges against Etz have upset students at the school. "He was caring, and he always wanted to help people... I'm upset. I'm really upset," says one student.

Officer Breslin is a father to two young sons.
