Westchester parents are fighting to keep the cost of subsidized child care down ahead of an increase scheduled to take effect in November.

The November increase will force parents to pay an average of $120 extra per month.

Kevin Maguire, the head of Westchester's Dept. Of Social Services (DSS), says there aren't many options, however state Assemblywoman Shelly Meyer says that the predicted DSS surplus should be used for the child care program.
