Witness: Car hits person, building in Edison

The crash happened on Woodbridge Avenue.

EDISON - An out-of-control pickup truck collided with a person and then slammed into a building in Edison Friday afternoon.

Witnesses on the scene tell News 12 that the driver struck a woman, who was with her sister, and then crashed into a restaurant on Woodbridge Avenue at around 2 p.m.

Witnesses say the force of the impact sent the woman through the plate-glass window and into the Zaika BBQ & Grill.

The person struck by the vehicle and the driver were taken to the hospital. Witnesses say the driver appeared to be between 17 and 20 years old.

There is no word yet on their injuries, but witnesses say the woman suffered head, back and limb injuries, but was breathing when taken away by EMS.
