A domestic dispute in Kingston led to a 26-year-old woman jumping out of the second story of a house early Wednesday morning, police said.

Najel S. Jordan, 28, of 6 Van Buren St., was charged with unlawful imprisonment, a misdemeanor, after he allegedly prevented his partner from leaving their residence following an altercation, said Kingston police Lt. Cliff Tremper. Police would not release the victim's name or address, though Tremper said she didn't suffer any injuries.

There was no physical contact or weapons involved, Tremper added.

"It appears to be a routine domestic dispute," he said.

Jordan remained in police custody Wednesday morning awaiting arraignment in the city, Tremper said.
