WVU to launch hybrid car share program
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia University students who don't have a car on campus will soon have another option besides hoofing it.
WVU plans to launch a new hourly rental car program, providing hybrid cars to students and academic departments at locations around campus.
The program, known as WE Car, is set to launch Wednesday. Four Toyota Prius hybrids will be parked around campus. Drivers can register for the program online and rent the cars for up to 15 hours a day at a cost of $9 per hour.
Director of Transportation and Parking Hugh Kierig says the program should not only be convenient for people on campus, but also reduce the demand for parking at WVU.
