YONKERS - The City of Yonkers officially kicked off the holiday season today with its annual tree-lighting ceremony.

More than 70 residents attended the event, at which a 25-foot tree was lit with at least 100 multi-colored lights.

Attendees enjoyed hot chocolate, a visit from Santa and songs by local musicians.

The ceremony was hosted by the City of Yonkers and the Yonkers Downtown Business Improvement District.
