Yonkers mayor hits the road in mobile office

YONKERS - Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano worked outside City Hall yesterday as he unveiled his "Mobile Mayor's Office."

The mayor started his day at the Coyne Park Senior Center on McLean Avenue and will visit different centers and locations each month.

With financial hardships, the mayor says it is crucial to find out what is important to the residents. "A lot of people are very interested in what's going on and with the current deficit it gives me a great opportunity to communicate one-on-one when I can with them," says Spano.

The mayor says he discussed numerous issues with the seniors including increasing taxes, red light cameras, and funding for the aging senior center.
