Police blocked off the areas of Ashburton and Nepperhan avenues as they searched the park for evidence. No arrests have been made. Police believe the shooting was an isolated event.

The reason for the shooting is under investigation.

The unidentified man was taken to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, where he was being treated Saturday for non-life threatening injuries, police said.
