Dollhouse
Drama
Premieres: Midseason

Premise: Echo is a Doll. She can be imprinted with a new personality and past to do all manner of jobs, but when she isn't on the job she has no memory of her own. But when Echo starts having memories, things get complicated for her, the other Dolls and the FBI agent trying to discover the truth about the Dollhouse.

First Impressions: Instantly atmospheric and notable for its production design and attractive cast, "Dollhouse" isn't instantly recognizable as Whedon-esque. From the clips shown to advertisers, Eliza Dushku is being used as the selling point and the clips show her swimming, dancing, speaking Spanish and waving a gun, so there's something for everybody. Like "Fringe," the pilot seems to be pepper with some weird American accents, though at least Olivia Williams gets to use her native tongue. You can't necessarily tell what the series is, but who are we kidding? We're so there.

Stars: Eliza Dushku ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), Tahmoh Penikett ("Battlestar Galactica"), Fran Kranz ("Welcome to the Captain"), Olivia Williams ("Rushmore"), Harry Lennix ("24"), Dichen Lachman ("Neighbours"), Enver Gjokaj

Studio: 20th Century Fox TV, Mutant Enemy Inc.

Producers: Joss Whedon ("Firefly," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer")
