Broadway is going to rock out this fall with the arrival of the new musical "Almost Famous," which will begin previews at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on Oct. 3 before opening on Nov. 3.

The show is based on Cameron Crowe's autobiographical 2000 film about a teenager who accompanies an up-and-coming rock band on tour for a story he's writing for Rolling Stone.

Crowe has penned the book and co-wrote the lyrics for the show with Tom Kitt, who also wrote the music. Casey Likes, who starred in "Almost Famous" when it premiered at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre in the fall of 2019, will reprise his role as high schooler and aspiring journalist William Miller.

Tickets for "Almost Famous" can be purchased by calling 800-447-7400 or online at telecharge.com.

In other Broadway news, Manhattan Theatre Club (MTC) and the Young Vic Theatre announced on Thursday that "The Collaboration," a new play about artists Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, will begin previews at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on Nov. 29 and open Dec. 20.

Paul Bettany will portray Warhol and Jeremy Pope will play Basquiat in Anthony McCarten's drama, which is set in 1984 and focuses on the two artists' attempt to work together to create the ultimate art exhibition. The show had its premiere earlier this year at London's Young Vic Theatre. For information on tickets, go to manhattantheatreclub.com.
