Beautiful dresses and gowns are something best friends Jordann Freifeld and Caroline Bokszczanin are obsessed with.

The co-owners of A La Mode Boutique in Huntington opened their women’s clothing shop in November to start a prom business, but the store also offers stylish dresses and other fashions — including jumpsuits, bodysuits, sets, pants, jeans, tops and jackets — for all occasions.

“Our passion stems from being intrigued by high end magazines, seeing beautiful dresses on gorgeous models,,” Bokszczanin, 27, of Syosset, says.

Freifeld, 32, says that helping girls and women find “the dress of their dreams” brings joy to both herself and Bokszczanin, and the pair takes pride in always carrying the latest looks. Freifeld notes that once customers say “yes to the dress” they like posing in front of the store’s flower wall for pictures.

The term "A La Mode" stems from a phrase that means "modern with the latest trends," Freifeld, also of Syosset, explains, referring to the name of the shop.

And Freifeld and Bokszczanin add they want customers to feel a certain vibe when visiting their store.

“Our whole intention for our boutique is to give our customer a New York City dress showroom type of experience,” Bokszczanin says. “We would describe the store as a modern, chic dress studio featuring gowns for every occasion.”

Prices range from a top for $50 to a $550 couture dress.

A La Mode is located at 367 W. Jericho Turnpike, in Huntington. The hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Different hours for summer are expected to be set; 631-629-4661, alamodeboutiquecj.com.
