Sisters open Enigma boutique in Wantagh

When it comes to fashion, there’s no enigma about Enigma Boutique, which opened in Wantagh in April: sisters and owners Shivon Super-Daniels and Samantha Calandrella know all the latest fashions.
“I’ve always loved fashion,” says Calandrella. She recalls not being able to afford a pair of jeans in a boutique when she was younger. She grew up in the Five Towns area of Nassau County. “I always said to myself. ‘One day, I’m going to own a boutique and I’m going to make it affordable, where a 14-year-old getting her first paycheck can come in and buy something.’”
With a 10-year age gap between the two sisters -- Super-Daniels is 42, Calandrella, 32 -- their styles are significantly different.
Their boutique offers an array of clothes for different ages, like crop tops for the younger set and boho, baggy items for a more mature look. The store’s name echoes the sisters’ personal fashion motto: “Be mysterious, be you.”
“It’s OK to be yourself. Be mysterious,” says Callandrella. “You don’t have to be figured out,” says Super-Daniels.
In tops, Enigma carries crop-tops, bodysuits, sweaters, dressy work clothes and shacket (shirt/jacket) flannels. For bottoms, there are jeans, shorts, athletic wear, loungewear, running shorts, bell-bottoms, and pants suitable for the office. Enigma offers an assortment of sets, including vacation wear, sweatshirts/sweatpants; a variety of rompers: a one piece-body suit with shorts; dresses, from casual, everyday wear to sweater dresses, trendy with midsections cut out, and more formal wear for fancy occasions.
In accessories, there are sunglasses, casual jewelry, including charm bracelets and leather bands with special messages, like “Be Strong,“ purses, candy from Candy Club, candles, soaps, bath balms, and room sprays.
Prices range from $9 for a bar of soap to $72 for designer jeans.
Enigma Boutique is located at 2241B Wantagh Ave., in Wantagh.
