Three pedestrians were struck and killed on Long Island roadways late Saturday and early Sunday, including a man who was hit by an unmarked Nassau County police car, authorities said.

A Huntington Station man was struck by two vehicles and killed about 8:45 p.m. while walking on a roadway in the hamlet, according to Suffolk County police.

James Beck, 57, was walking in the westbound lane of East Jericho Turnpike near Totten Avenue when he was first hit by a westbound 2009 Honda sedan and then a westbound 2008 Saab SUV, police said.

Beck died at the scene. The drivers of the two vehicles were not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.

Later Saturday evening, a man attempting to cross Front Street in Uniondale was struck by an unmarked Nassau police vehicle, police said.

The victim, identified Monday by police as Miguel Romero, 47, of Uniondale, was attempting to cross the roadway from the southbound side at the intersection with New York Avenue shortly before 9:30 p.m. when he was hit, according to detectives.

Romero was taken to a hospital where he died. The officer was also taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to police.

Nassau police spokesman Det. Lt. Richard LeBrun said he could not release additional details on the crash as the investigation was ongoing.

And in Holbrook, a man was killed about 6:45 a.m. near the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and Grundy Avenue, according to Suffolk police. A passerby discovered Alan Lepre, 59, of Holbrook lying in the road and reported it to 911. Lepre died at the scene, police said.

Police are searching for the driver of the vehicle who fled the scene. No other details were immediately available.
