A Ronkonkoma man is facing multiple charges after allegedly leaving the scene of a crash early Sunday that killed a pedestrian in the hamlet, Suffolk police said.

Wade Gagliano, 23, was driving a 2005 Lexus RX330 westbound on Johnson Avenue between Pine and Ocean avenues about 1:30 a.m. when the vehicle struck a female pedestrian, Suffolk police said in a news release.

The victim, who has not yet been identified by police, was pronounced dead at the scene. Gagliano “failed to remain at the scene,” but was found a short time later, police said.

Gagliano was charged with leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death, and driving while intoxicated. He was held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and was released with non-monetary restrictions at his arraignment Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
