Oktoberfest in September? Sure, why not — especially when it’s on atmospheric Governors Island, which will host its second annual beer festival on Sept. 8-9. Dubbed OctFest, the weekend brings together established and emerging stars in the beer, food and music worlds, with suds from more than 90 breweries, dishes from renowned chefs and live music curated by Pitchfork magazine. Long Island’s own Blue Point Brewing Co. will pour their beers alongside brewers from at least 20 countries, including Ontario’s Collective Arts Brewing and Italy’s Birra del Borgo. Roberta’s Pizza, Mission Chinese Food, Oakland’s KronnerBurger and Island Oyster are among the choices in the "food village," and the Flaming Lips and Vince Staples are headlining acts. Advance tickets are $75 for one day or $140 for two days, and include 45 ounces of beer samples per day, culinary pairings, live music and a round-trip ferry ticket from either the Brooklyn or Manhattan terminals.
