People on the Move: Long Island promotions, new jobs

Paula Pickel, of Upper Brookville, a wealth adviser at Corient in Manhattan, has been elected to the board of directors of the Estate Planning Council of Long Island in Massapequa Park.

Jeffrey Gibralter, of Dix Hills, a partner at KLG Business Valuators & Forensic Accountants in Melville, has been elected immediate past president of the board of directors of the Estate Planning Council of Long Island in Massapequa Park.

Lawrence N. Berwitz, of Roslyn, a partner at Abrams Fensterman in Lake Success, has been elected to the board of directors of the Estate Planning Council of Long Island in Massapequa Park.

Thomas McDaid Jr., of Smithtown, has been hired as assistant superintendent for finance and operations in the Valley Stream Central High School District. McDaid was assistant superintendent for business and operations in the North Merrick Union Free School District.

Joseph Niczky, of Rockville Centre, has been hired as an associate at Rivkin Radler in Uniondale. Niczky was an insurance coverage litigation associate at Hunton Andrews Kurth in Manhattan.

Kaitlyn B. Connor, of Farmingville, has been hired as an associate at Rivkin Radler in Uniondale. Connor was an intern at The Edward P. Swyer Justice Center at Albany Law School in Albany.

Richard G. Chalifoux, of Islip, senior managing director, fiduciary services at Webster Private Bank in Jericho, has been elected NAEPC (National Association of Estate Planning Council) liaison of the board of directors of the Estate Planning Council of Long Island in Massapequa Park.

Nicholas G. Moneta, of Rockville Centre, an associate attorney at Rivkin Radler in Uniondale, has been elected to the board of directors of the Estate Planning Council of Long Island in Massapequa Park.

Joanne Campbell Schiefer, of Cold Spring Harbor, senior financial adviser at Wells Fargo Advisors in Woodbury, has been elected to the board of directors of the Estate Planning Council of Long Island in Massapequa Park. 

Silvia Cota, of Great Neck, has been hired as chief executive at Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk in Northport. Cota was director of patient care services at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore.

Dr. Abhisek Swaika, of East Fishkill, N.Y., interim director at Northwell Cancer Institute at Rego Park in Rego Park Queens, has been promoted to medical director. Swaika, also an attending physician at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital in Forest Hills, Queens has been promoted to chief of oncology and hematology.. 

Armando D'Accordo, of Wantagh, chief executive and president of CMIT Solutions of South Nassau in Merrick, has been elected to the board of directors of the Alzheimer's Association Long Island Chapter in Melville.

Matthew L. Goldberg, of East Northport, a partner at Hankin & Mazel in Great Neck, has been elected president of the board of directors of the Suffolk Y JCC (Jewish Community Center) in Commack.

John Sears, of Brookhaven, a mobile coordinator at Long Island Cares, Inc. in Hauppauge, has been promoted to government relations and advocacy manager.

Wilma Holmes Tootle, of Freeport, president of W.H. Tootle Consulting Services in Freeport, has been elected to the board of directors of EASE Racism in Syosset.

Mikayla Renton, of Amityville, has been hired as an administrative assistant at Full Spectrum Financial Solutions in Jericho. Renton is a recent graduate of SUNY College at Old Westbury in Old Westbury.

Bob Becker, of Norwalk, Conn., executive vice president and general manager of residential business unit at Leviton in Melville, has been promoted to chief operating officer of electrical business.
