Call it the Aaron Rodgers’ effect, Season 2. This time, it’s epic.

The Jets will be on primetime six times and have one standalone game over the first 11 weeks of the 2024 season. Six is the maximum primetime games a team can play, and it’s the most the Jets have had in their franchise history. They had five night games and one standalone all of last year.

The NFL schedules were released Wednesday night and the Jets have an interesting and busy start to their season. Robert Saleh will have to navigate the Jets through a rough schedule if they’re going to end their 13-year playoff drought. They have reloaded on the offensive line and upgraded the receiver room to improve their chances to contend.

The Jets play their first three games in 11 days, travel to London in Week 5 and have a stretch of four games in 18 days. The Jets’ bye isn’t until Week 12.

They open with two road games: on Monday Night Football at reigning NFC-champion San Francisco (Sept. 9) and at Tennessee (Sept. 15). The Jets’ home opener will be in in primetime on Thursday night, Sept. 19 against New England.

That will be Rodgers’ first home game since he tore his left Achilles tendon in Week 1 last year on Monday Night.

Former Jet quarterback Zach Wilson, who was traded to Denver last month, returns to MetLife Stadium when the Broncos visit on Sept. 29. Wilson is expected to compete with rookie quarterback Bo Nix for the starting job.

The Jets could face another former “franchise” quarterback the following week when they fly across the pond to play the Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Oct. 6. Sam Darnold, who the Jets drafted third overall in 2018, signed with Minnesota in the offseason.

After London, the Jets have back-to-back primetime games: on Monday Night against Buffalo (Oct. 14) and Sunday night (Oct. 20) at Pittsburgh. The Jets are in New England in Week 8 before hosting the Texans in a Thursday night game on Halloween.

The Jets are in Arizona on Nov. 10, and then back on Sunday night against the Colts at MetLife in Week 11 (Nov. 17).

Following their bye, the Jets’ next five games are versus the Seahawks (Dec. 1), at Miami (Dec. 8), at Jacksonville (Dec. 15), against the Rams (Dec. 22) and at Buffalo (Dec. 29).

The Jets close out the season at home for the first time since 2016 with a game against the Dolphins in Week 18.
