SOMERS - The body of a man found alongside a road in Westchester County yesterday morning has been identified.

State police say 60-year-old Frank Katz, of Somers, collapsed on Route 100 because of an unknown medical condition. They say there is no indication that Katz was hit by any passing vehicles.

Katz was discovered just before 6:30 a.m. Monday near Plumbrook Road. He was taken to Putnam Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Both directions of Route 100 were shut down as state police investigated, but have since reopened.
