$1.5M grant for Stony Brook prof

Balaji Sitharaman of Coram received the Director’s New Innovator Award from the National Institutes of Health for “exceptional creativity and proposal of highly innovative research projects.”
Sitharaman, an assistant professor of biomedical engineering at Stony Brook University, also received a $1.5 million grant. His research included engineering noninvasive technology for combined noninvasive imaging and targeted treatment of bone loss using multifunctional nanomaterials and ultrasonic waves.
