A+ Technology and Security Solutions Inc., a Bay Shore surveillance systems company, plans to begin operations at a second security command facility in Bridgeport, Connecticut, next month.

The company currently has 85 employees on Long Island at its 18,000-square-foot headquarters in Bay Shore. A+, which provides security installation and monitoring services, expects to hire about 20 employees, mostly software engineers, programmers and developers, in addition to a handful of interns to work at the 7,000-square-foot Bridgeport facility currently being renovated.

"We've been growing at an exponential rate" over the past two years, said David Antar, president and founder of A+. "With that growth, we've expanded our footprint. We need to have satellite offices."

The new location, expected to be fully operational by Jan. 1, will serve as the company's second "global fusion center," a facility that will provide 24-hour surveillance and security services. It will also serve as a location for the light manufacturing of STEM educational technology, and a "duplicate data" location in the event that the Bay Shore facility goes offline amid a disaster.

Plans also include opening a third location in New Jersey in mid-2016, Antar said.
