The specialty chemicals supplier Aceto Corp., of Port Washington, has appointed a new board member, Salvatore Guccione, an executive at a Manhattan private equity firm who has decades of experience in the chemical industry.
"With almost 25 years of investing and operating experience in the specialty chemicals and healthcare industries we believe Sal will prove to be a valuable addition to our board," Albert Eilender, chief executive of Aceto, said in a Thursday news release.
Guccione is an operating partner at Arsenal Capital Partners, "responsible for setting the strategy for, and executing upon, strategic acquisitions in the specialty chemicals and pharmaceutical product or service sectors," Aceto said.
Guccione for two decades was in senior management positions with three US-based, international manufacturing and service companies -- WIL Research Laboratories, Cambrex Corp. and International Specialty Products, Aceto said. He helped plan, build and manage several specialty chemical, pharmaceutical and FDA-regulated businesses, Aceto said.
