Those pesky fees for using an ATM will go for a good cause in October — at least for anyone using a Gold Coast Bank ATM: Beauty for a Cure, an organization based in Bethpage dedicated to supporting Long Island not-for-profit breast cancer charities.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Gold Coast Bank has branches in Huntington, Setauket and Islandia.

Last year, only fees at its Huntington branch were included.

The bank said that it selected Beauty for a Cure as this year’s beneficiary to extend its support to several local breast cancer charities affiliated with the organization: Babylon Breast Cancer Coalition, Lean On Me Breast Cancer Network Inc., West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition Inc., and Long Beach Breast Cancer Coalition. The groups distribute funds for medical counseling, research and development, prevention, education, wellness counseling and legislation advocacy for achieving increased funding.

The bank also plans to raise money for Beauty for a Cure with a raffle at its Huntington branch’s anniversary party, to be held at the branch Oct. 13.
