If you tried to get onto Bank of America’s website today, you might have been thwarted.
The site problems started 7 a.m. today and getting onto it has been hit and miss. It does not pop up at all or a snail can cross the computer screen before the home page pops up.
But bank spokeswoman Tara Burke said most customers have not had problems. “A small population of our customers is experiencing issues getting in,” she said. “The majority of our customers are fully able to bank online. Our ATM channel is not affected.”
The bank has 29 million online customers.
There’s been some speculation on Twitter that it’s the result of WikiLeaks’ “anonymous” hacking in or some other software attack.
But Burke said no.“It’s been strictly a result of a routine system change we made last night.”
