Brewery to grow in Peconic

Greenport Harbor Brewing plans to expand in a Peconic location that will eventually increase its production capacity more than tenfold. The two-year-old brewery plans to close on the purchase of a former Ford dealership in the spring, enabling it to produce as many as 25,000 barrels a year, compared with its current 2,000, said Richard Vandenburgh, a co-founder. The company also plans to add bottling operations eventually. "Our production and the demand for our beer have just really kind of rocketed up in our current location," he said. As part of the expansion, the brewery plans to double the number of full-time employees, which currently total four. The company expects to begin some production in Peconic by January of next year, but plans to keep its Greenport location. -- Carrie Mason-Draffen

Refinancing for office park

A Jericho-based real estate owner said it obtained refinancing for the Sunrise Business Center, an office park in Great River, in the form of a $35 million loan from Bank of America. Metropolitan Realty Associates said the low-leverage loan with no prepayment penalty culminates a five-year transformation of the park that it purchased for $20 million in 2006 with equity partner Angelo, Gordon & Co. LP. of Manhattan. Metropolitan, a private real estate investment and development firm, said the four-building, 388,500-square-foot park on Sunrise Highway is 96 percent occupied. -- Tom Incantalupo
