The Hauppauge Industrial Association said Wednesday that its president, Terri Alessi-Micelli, has been appointed to the Long Island Regional Planning Council as a voting member.
The planning council was created three years ago "for the purpose of promoting the physical, economic and social health and well-being of the Long Island region and its residents."
The Hauppauge business group, known as HIA-LI, founded more than 30 years ago and located in a Hauppauge industrial park, has in recent years expanded its activities to include more of Suffolk County and Long Island.
“I am honored to represent HIA-LI at the Long Island Regional Planning Council and see this as an opportunity discuss key issues affecting the Long Island business community and the quality of life on Long Island,” Alessi-Miceli said in a news release.
