CA exec elected to lead national association

An executive at the software systems provider CA Inc., of Islandia, has been chosen as president-elect of a not-for-profit national business association, the company said Monday.

Robert Sterbens, senior director of product marketing for CA's Service Management division, has been elected to the position of president-elect by the board of directors of Pasadena, Calif., based Information Technology Service Management Forum USA.

In this role, Sterbens will be on itSMF USA's executive committee and will be chairman of its governance portfolio, "responsible for maintaining and enforcing the bylaws, policies and the organization's exemplary code of ethics," CA said in a news release.

Sterbens has been active in the itSMF USA since 2006 as an advisory board member. He joined the board of directors in May 2009, the CA statement said.

"It's an honor to be asked to contribute even further to itSMF USA, an organization that is transforming the service management industry," Sterbens said in the statement.

"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to help the ITSM industry evolve from what is now a practice, into a recognized global profession."
