CA president stepping down

In a terse disclosure to the Securities and Exchange Commission on Thursday, CA said its president and chief operating officer, Michael J. Christenson, “will leave the Company effective May 31.”

No mention was made of a replacement.

The news came on the same day CA released its 2009 earnings and Bill McCracken, chief executive since January, said he was pleased with the company’s financial results.

CA in 2009 made $774 million, compared with profit of $671 million in 2008. Its net revenues in 2009 were $4.35 billion compared with $4.27 billion the previous year.

Christenson was named chief operating officer in 2006 and president in March 2008, reporting to then-chief executive John Swainson.
