CA Technologies has been added to two stock market indexes that track companies with environmentally-aware corporate practices.
The Islandia company gained listings, to begin Sept. 19, on the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and North America Index.
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes track companies that do best, compared to peers, in measurements of energy consumption, climate change strategies, human resources development and corporate governance. The criteria were established jointly with Sustainable Asset Management, a Switzerland-based investment company.
The World Index includes about 350 companies among the largest 2,500 companies in the Dow Jones Global Total Stock Market Index. And the North America index includes about 142 companies among the largest 600 North American companies.
CA Technologies uses its own ecoSoftware program for tracking, managing and reporting on its sustainability program.
"As a global company, we recognize the importance of sustainability not only as an integral part of the software solutions we provide our customers, but also as a way to effectively run our own operations," Cynthia Curtis, vice president and chief sustainability officer, CA Technologies, said in a news release.
"Embracing sustainability in everything we do, we believe is just good business.
