Canon call center honored

Canon U.S.A. Inc., of Lake Success, has received a Center of Excellence distinction for the second straight year from BenchmarkPortal, a consulting company that assesses corporate call centers.

BenchmarkPortal is affiliated with Purdue University’s Center for Customer-Driven Quality. It gives the awards to telephone call centers that meet certain standards. Call centers are centralized offices where telephone operators receive customer complaints, inquiries and sales orders.

“The Center of Excellence award is one of the most coveted awards in the service and support industry and Canon is honored to receive this recognition for two consecutive years,” James Sharp, senior vice president and general manager of Canon’s Imaging System Group, said.

“By providing high-quality customer service, we help build a stronger relationship with our customers which in turn enhances their experience with our brand and products. Earning the award a second consecutive year underscores our commitment to our customers. I am very proud of our support team.”

Canon U.S.A. in May  broke ground on what is to be a 668,296-square-foot building in Melville. It plans to move there from Lake Success in two years.
