The imaging company Océ, a subsidiary of Lake Success-based Canon USA, has begun distributing a new line of office software for tracking the cost of photocopying and printing -- especially for architecture and engineering firms that use large-format copy machines..
The AbacusPCR software, made by American Reprographics Company, helps clients in “getting reimbursed for the printing or copying you do for your customers,” Océ said in a news release.
“With AbacusPCR, all your printers and copiers are tracked, by user, by project, by client, or whatever criteria your business requires,” the company said.
"With the large amount of decentralized printing now done in AE (architecture and engineering) firms and the need to accurately track and recover costs, Abacus is a great addition to our product portfolio," Bob Honn, an Océ North America marketing director. "… AbacusPCR will enable our customers to not only track Océ devices but also all non-Océ narrow and wide format devices."
