It's been a busy week for the marketing staff over at Canon U.S.A. in Lake Success.
In the past three days the company has introduced seven new products - three consumer cameras, a professional camera and three photo printers.
-- The PowerShot SX130 IS Digital Camera, with "extreme telephoto capabilities," on sale by late August for around $250.
-- The Power SD4500 IS Digital Camera, with a 10x optical zoom, due in early September at around $350.
-- The PowerShot S95 Digital Camera, with improved HD video capacity, due out in late August retailing for about $400.
-- The EOS 7D Studio Version DSLR Camera, especially made for wedding and portrait photographers, "links customer data directly with the image file so that it can be maintained throughout the entire workflow process, ideal for school photographers, forensic and medical photo workflows." The camera will retail for an estimated $2,599; or, for the body only, $1,829.
-- The SELPHY CP800 Compact Photo Printer, above left, offers the "flexibility and convenience of printing high-quality photos from almost anywhere without the hassle of using busy kiosks at retail locations." Will sell for about $100.
-- The PIXMA MG6120 Wireless Photo AIO Printer, capable of making borderless 4x6 photos in 20 seconds, will sell for about $200.
-- The PIXMA MG8120 Wireless Photo AIO printer, with six individual ink tanks, will sell for about $300.
